FOR YOUR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION
It is with great regret we announce the dissolution of the GAL7 Foundation, Inc. This Board is extremely proud of the needs we have met, the GAL Advocate colleagues we have assisted, the community contacts we have established, the friends we have made, and the awareness we have raised in our six years of service to meet the emergency, basic and enrichment needs of children placed within the foster care system in Florida’s Judicial Circuit Seven. Our Mission
We meet the needs (basic, emergency, and inclusive) of children in Florida foster care. The Florida Legislature funding for foster care simply supports the basic housing and food for these children. The Foundation helps to provide clothes, school supplies, emergency needs, and, most importantly, inclusion activities in support of a normal childhood. The Need is Great There are currently over 1,700 children in the foster care system in the 7th Judicial Circuit, which is made up of four counties: Flagler, Putnam, St. Johns, and Volusia. These children are suddenly removed from all they know, often with just the clothes on their backs. |
